Lida Africa was privileged to participate in the 10th AfrEA’s 2022 Conference, the pioneer virtual event in the history of the organization!. The Conference acts as the foundation for promoting and advocating AfrEA’s “Made in Africa” approach and allows knowledge sharing, collaboration, and networking with a wide range of international organizations and individuals.

With a theme titled “Evaluation that leaves no-one behind: empowering progress towards the Africa we want amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and the other crises and opportunities facing us”, the 10th AfrEA conference drew participation from a wide range of stakeholders on the African continent and globally, including the National Evaluation Associations, the AfrEA YEE Network, World leaders in the M&E field and students’.

In line with the above objectives, Lida Africa provided a one-day hands-on Workshop to over 35 delegates (from 15 countries) entitled “Evaluation Data Management, Analysis, and Visualization Using Advanced Microsoft Excel.”. This built on our continuous partnership with the Africa Evaluation Association in strengthening the capacity of M&E in Africa since 2017.

Lida Africa has for the past three conferences provided practical skills to a total of 150 delegates from 35 countries across the globe. Read about our Workshop at the 2017 AfrEA conference in Kampala Uganda as well as the Qualitative Analysis using Nvivo Workshop at the 2019 Conference in Côte d’Ivoire.

Our workshop at the 2022 Conference was specially designed to provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the data management process, and the pragmatic step-by-step process for conducting data analysis as well as visualization Using Advanced Functions of Microsoft Excel. The workshop will cover two main data analysis & visualization strategies i.e Evaluation Data analysis and interpretation using PIVOT tables (Conducting Bivariate analysis, Cross tabulations, multivariable analysis, Pivot graphs, Pivot Slicers, Creating PivotChart Reports from Scratch and development of strategic decisions and policies from M&E data) and Data Visualization & Dashboard creation (Working with Visuals, Composition Visuals. Further, the sessions will cover automated analysis using Advanced Functions. Delegates were trained by our Research and Training Department.
